Hi. I’m Levlyn Emet Quill—a pen name, yes, but the voice behind it is very real.
I’m a career educator with over 30 years in the field. I’ve taught in private, public, and choice schools, coached fellow teachers, worked in literacy, and fought—quietly and not-so-quietly—for equity and neurodiversity in education.
Like many neurodivergent adults, my resume is not linear. It’s filled with deep dives into special interests—some connected to education, others in different fields. I’ve often held more than one job at a time, balancing multiple passions and responsibilities simultaneously. I did all of that while raising two amazing humans as a single mom. I am proud to say they are both wonderful young adults.
🧠 Why I Talk About Neurodivergence
I have always had a knack for working with kiddos who seemed to walk to the beat of their own drums.
Because it’s part of who I am.
I’m an AuDHD’er—someone living at the intersection of autism and ADHD. While I’ve had an official ADHD diagnosis for decades, my autism diagnosis came later in life—and it’s been clarifying, to say the least.
Navigating systems that don’t understand what support looks like—whether for students or teachers—is part of my lived experience. I’m not alone in that. I write about neurodivergence to find my people and help those who want to improve learning environments by putting inclusion at the forefront.
✊ Who Is This Site For?
This site is for the ones still in the trenches:
- Teachers
- Librarians
- Parents
- Community members
- Anyone who still believes in public education, even when it’s under attack
If you’ve been gaslit, pushed out, dismissed, or told to “tone it down”—welcome. You’re in the right place.
I’m not offering perfect answers or polished perspectives. I’m offering truth. Solidarity. And a refusal to stay quiet.
💥 Why “Mad”?
Because I am.
Because we should be.
Because when anger is rooted in care and clarity, it becomes fuel for change.
This site is anonymous for my safety, but it’s personal in every other way.
I’m here. I’m with you. I am one of you.
In solidarity,
Levlyn Emet Quill
